The project, which includes organizations from five European countries (Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Portugal) has the goal of generating together an education tool for the prevention of working hazards at the social service sector. At this activity sector, is where the more labor accident happens (according to our research, 34% more than in other works).

The past July 15 and 16, the partners of the project met in Sofia (Bulgaria), at the last meeting before the final presentation in Madrid. They received a training on how to use the web, so each country can translate the contents to their own language, and add more specific country materials.

During the meeting, the members analyzed also the next steps before the last presentation, and showed the pride of demonstrating, through the project, the possibilities to generate joint work between different countries of Europe, at a difficult time for the European cohesion.

Videos

The training tools are mostly a series of videos where actors can be seen in real life situations of care givers. The videos are about basic risks exposure to chemical or biological agents (contact with infectious and contagious diseases); psychosocial risks (bullying, violence and especially stress related to the workplace); physical, mechanical and electrical hazards (use of equipment, falls) and derivatives postural and musculoskeletal diseases.

There is also a video and a PDF with a space for interactive questions and answers. All of the videos will be available at the end of the project in the web page, where you may find these and other materials for the training in risk prevention.

The project is part of new training models that combine, through videos, reality situations. With witty images and a casual language the content is more easily assimilated.

The Confederación Española de Cooperativas de Trabajo Asociado (COCETA), from Spain; the Associação Nacional para a Acção Familiar (ANJAF) and la Associação Portuguesa de Saúde, Higiene e Segurança no Trabalho para o Desenvolvimento e Cooperação Internacional (APSHSTDC), from Portugal; the Istituto Nazionale di Formazione della Lega delle Cooperative e Mutue (Inforcoop) and the video company Oltremodo, from Italy; the educational firm from Bulgaria, Balkanplan; and the Group For European Integration (GIE), from Romania, are involved in the project
